Systems Support

EDGAR Online is a leader in the business information industry specializing in the extraction, packaging and distribution of public company information contained in SEC filings.

Continued growth has created a need for us to expand our operations staff to further enhance and support our ecommerce web-based Ecommerce environments, data processing systems and our suite of XBRL-based I-Metrix solutions.

This position would contribute to the support, creation and design of most aspects of this infrastructure.

This job will be performed in our Rockville, MD office.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting large, complex, web-based systems, with a solid background in network administration, web applications, and SQL.
• In depth knowledge with strong hands on experience supporting: Microsoft Windows environment (Win 2003, Win 2000, Win XP ) in an enterprise (IIS, SQL, FTP, DNS, File and Print servers, AD); e-mail technology - engineering and architecture;
• Experience creating tools and scripts for system monitoring, maintenance, automate repetitive tasks, etc. Ability to work with vendors, customers, application developers, database administrators and other technology groups to resolve problems. Solid understanding of protocols/applications such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSL
• Solid understanding of Network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and proxies.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL to including but not limited to Installation of Standard SQL Server, general DBA issues, and general use of TSQL.
• Ability to trouble-shoot any problem quickly, under time constraints, and with interruptions.
• Strong customer focus, work ethic, attention to details, process orientation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Heavy lifting may be required: 50 to 75 LBS.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
• Ability to manage servers remotely (from home) for on call work
